Are the cottages private?
Yes, they all have private patio gardens and private hot tubs to the rear with garden furniture. They’re perfect for romantic weekend breaks or solo holidays. There is open plan seating to the front. The cottages form a U shape of converted barns up to 400 years old with The Coach House Loft set slightly apart.
Do you offer flexible cancellation?
You can cancel up to 14 nights prior to your arrival date and receive a full refund (one-off cancellation fee of £25). Refunds for cancellations made 14 days or less before the day of arrival will depend upon the property being relet. If we manage to relet it, we will refund up to the relet price or your original price (whichever is the lower), less a one off £25 cancellation fee.
Where can you buy local produce?
We are lucky to have many local farm shops nearby, and in many of our recommended places to visit West Wales. At The Farm Gate, Llangrannog, just 1 mile away, you can buy their own meat and vegetable produce, locally sourced produce and a range of organic produce.
On the way to Cardigan at Cherry Picked, Sarnau, you will find a well-stocked deli. Aberaeron has delis, and on the way, you pass The Moody Cow. We also have local butchers and artisan bread in both Cardigan (12 miles) and Aberaeron (14 miles).
Do you provide BBQs?
No, but you’re very welcome to bring your own to enjoy a sunset meal in your private garden with loved ones.
How far is the closest supermarket?
In addition to local farm shops, there is a well stocked Londis 4 miles away, and Tesco and Londis in Cardigan (12 miles)
Is Dolgoy a good location for hikers?
Dolgoy Cottages are very popular with hikers, with plenty of places to visit West Wales by foot. We’re a mile (2 miles by road) from the Wales Coastal Path with its scenic views, sandy coves, an abundance of wildlife, including seals and dolphins and coastal villages. There are many routes, walks to explore and places to visit in West Wales from the cottages and further afield. After exploring, the cottages are peaceful, comfortable and the private Jacuzzi hot tubs are ideal for relaxing and stargazing.
Are you close to pubs and cafes?
Yes, we are two miles from the coastal village of Llangrannog where you will find award-winning pubs, cafes, fish and chips, ice cream and award-winning takeaway pizza.
What food should you take on a self-catering holiday?
We would recommend taking non-perishable goods from home, such as pasta and rice. You can also visit shops and food markets in the nearby towns and villages to buy a range of fresh Welsh produce for your stay.
Are the kitchens well-equipped?
Yes, from dishwashers to garlic crush, steamers to cafetiere and plenty of crockery, glassware and cutlery in our luxury holiday cottages.
How reliable is the wi-fi
We have fibre to the property and Wi-Fi 6 throughout the luxury holiday cottages and access to Wi-Fi externally too. Whilst we cannot guarantee Wi-Fi as it is dependent upon our service provider. In general, the Wi-F is very stable, reliable, and fast.
Is Dolgoy Cottages dog friendly?
Yes! If you’re looking for dog-friendly holidays in Wales, furry guests are very welcome at Dolgoy. We accept one well-behaved dog in all our cottages free of charge and two in some of our larger ones. Each luxury holiday cottage has its own private patio garden, and there is a communal paddock for play and exercise. There is even a picnic bench for guests to sit and watch. We ask owners to keep dogs on leads outside these areas.

Absolutely, it’s the perfect opportunity to experience the local, high-quality produce and make the most of the excellent cooking and dining facilities in our luxury holiday cottages. Dolgoy cottages is the perfect setting for couples, friends or family groups to enjoy quality time together and a hearty home-cooked meal, without having to go out.
Do you accommodate children?
Babes in arms and children from 16 years of age are very welcome. We are unable to accommodate children between the ages of 2 and 16. Occasionally we make exceptions for older children but only with prior consent, you are welcome to get in touch before booking.
Is the heating free?
Yes, all heating costs are included. Our main source of heating are very efficient wood burners and we provide the kindling and logs for your stay. The log burner is laid ready for you to light and you have access to wood at all times. There are electric panel radiators providing background heating and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.
Do you have log burners?
Yes, each of our adult-only cottages are equipped with log burners and plenty of wood and kindling for romantic evenings in or cosy evenings with family watching a film or playing games.
Do you have space for dogs to play and exercise?
Yes, our luxury holiday cottages have a shared, fenced exercise paddock for your furry friends to stretch their legs. This is the perfect place to burn some energy on cosy days where you don’t want to venture too far from the cottage.
Is Cardigan Bay dog-friendly?
The Wales Coastal Path welcomes dogs on leads on most stretches. Local cafes with outdoor seating accommodate pets. Some of the best beaches in West Wales are also dog-friendly, including Mwnt and Poppit Sands.
Are you close to the coast?
Yes, as the crow flies, we are a mile away from the beautiful scenic coast of Cardigan Bay and near some of the best beaches in West Wales. We are two miles by road from Llangrannog and Cwtydu and 6 miles from New Quay. We are nestled in a valley and as you drive out through our gate, you can see the sea and Aberporth across the fields.
Do you have large beds?
Yes, all our beds are either king size or superking. In some cottages, we can provide single beds upon request.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is ample parking in a large carpark located at the end of the drive, behind the cottages. Guests are very welcome to temporarily park in front of the cottages for loading, unloading, pick up and drop off and then to pop their vehicles into the car park. The Coach House Loft has its own dedicated parking in front of its patio garden. Vehicle charging is not permitted due to fire risk and insurance constraints.
Is it a working farm?
Dolgoy Cottages are set on a 35-acre Dolgoy Cottages are set on a 35-acre small holding, historically a Gentleman’s residence of more than 280 acres in its heyday and over c400 years old. The land is occupied by cattle and sheep. We have goats, kunekune pigs and an array of poultry too.
Is there public transport nearby?
We are 2 miles from Pentre Gat, where you can catch buses to Aberystwyth and Cardigan, stopping at coastal towns in between.

Are the hot tubs private?
Yes, Dolgoy Cottages is perfect for families, friends or couples romantic weekend breaks with hot tubs in each cottage’s private patio garden. They are available all year round. We are very proud of our standard of hot tubs and how we service them. Sit back, relax and escape to a world of tranquility as you stargaze with loved ones.
At 08:00 on the day of your departure, they are emptied, sanitised, filters removed and cleaned, and everything checked before refilling using our preheated sanitised water ready for the next guest. This means our hot tubs are almost always ready for when our next guest arrives all year round.
What types of mattresses do you provide?
All our mattresses are good quality tufted mattresses, at least 2000 spring. On top of this, we provide toppers and our zip and link mattresses have extra padding over the zip to provide optimum comfort.
Do you supply all linen and towels?
We provide linen and bath towels. We also provide a kitchen pack. We ask guests to provide their own beach towels and towels to use for the hot tub.
Can we get food delivered to the cottages before/as we arrive?
You are able to schedule grocery deliveries from Tesco, Asda and Morrisons. You can also liaise with the local farm shop ‘At The Farm Gate’, Llangrannog.
Can we book more than one cottage?
Yes, this is a great idea for mixed generations or friends and family spending quality time together. Enjoy the privacy of your own luxury cottage, with the convenience of being right next door to enjoy meal times or days out together.
