Spring is in the Air at Our Luxury Cottages in West Wales – Discover Top Events and Places to Visit

Spring has sprung at Dolgoy Cottages. The beautiful glow of daffodils and snowdrops fills the surrounding hedges, and the wonderful sounds of the emerging wildlife can be heard from your private adult-only cottage.

Join the Celebrations for Barely Saturday – April 26th

Held annually on the last Saturday of each month, Barley Saturday is a unique event in Cardigan, celebrating local farming heritage. Past events saw farmers from surrounding areas attend to view horses and hire workers. Today, this day-long event features parades of horses, vintage cars, motorbikes, tractors, carriages, milk floats, and gypsy wagons filling the streets before spectators.

Cardigan 

The beautiful town of Cardigan is situated not far from Dolgoy Cottages. The town is rich in history, with a wonderful castle overlooking the tidal reach of the River Teifi. Take a stroll through the vibrant streets and indulge in some fresh Welsh produce from the artisan bakeries, cafes and delis. 

New Quay 

New Quay is a charming seaside town just a short distance from our adult-only cottages. Known for its relaxing beach and marine life, it’s a great place to visit in Spring to explore boat trips and tours around the bay. There’s also an array of cafes and restaurants along the waterfront to have a morning coffee ahead of your day exploring, or enjoy some fresh seafood to round up your day. 

Llangrannog 

Just 2 miles from our tranquil hideaway, you’ll stumble across the coastal village of Llangrannog. With beautiful, dog-friendly beaches, it’s best known for the iconic Carreg Bica, a distinctive rock formation between Llangrannog and Cilborth Beaches. Enjoy a picnic on the clifftop, wander the beaches, and discover dog-friendly cafes and restaurants, including a wonderful, award-winning pizza restaurant. 

Aberaeron 

Another of our favourite nearby towns to visit during your stay at our luxury dog-friendly cottages in Wales is Aberaeron. A picturesque habour town, famous for Georgian buildings, with plenty of places to explore in Spring and Summer. The town is painted with vibrant buildings, boutique gift shops and a variety of cafes and delis. Enjoy a slower pace as you wander through the picturesque town, browsing the shops and enjoying delicious Welsh produce.
